202 Gallery

Co-curator and director together with Johanna Crafoord.

202 gallery is a non-profit organisation that supports multi-disciplinary artistic events in the University of the Arts London. It works primarily to promote cross-pollination between UAL's myriad of courses. It also aims to challenge the disciplinary borders within the university and celebrate diversity of practice and culture.

The Aquarium

A Bakhtin-Esque Experience.

Exploring collective creativity, The Aquarium invited several UAL artists from various fields to participate in an experimental open studio. They could come by and in an exhibition space with other artists work on their projects. The aim for the evening was to create and work on your craft whilst being in an open environment where you could gain inspiration and new connections. The studio space was initially squared off from the audience with cellophane that hung from the ceiling, eventually the audience was invited to step into the space and take part of the creative energy.

We were not sure of the outcome of the event, and what would happen as the audience bridged the border between them and the artists. The evening ended in a chaotic, collective dance experience.

Mind The Mind Gaps

MA Contemporary Photography: Practices and Philosophies x 202 Gallery.

This collaboration was aimed at exploring the relationship between various artists, their own work as well as each others. Seven artists exhibited permanent pieces as well as live performance works.

The evening also featured an opening talk by Matt Hale, co-founder of City Racing Gallery & co-host of the Art Monthly talk show.
